conan’s reaction: “thank you very much. *bows to björk* thank you so much. that was great. björk everybody.  we’ll take a break, we’ll be right back. *5 claps, turns in to talk to björk, she curtseys in return*.”

I could shoot myself in the duct tape, i missed crashing björk at deer lake park here back in may.  and there is a reason for this.  she is überworldy and busy so the chances of her stopping by the pac northwest are slim.

tonight however, is my oscars, it’s my emmys - i don’t think that a better combination could come than to have björk on conan.  i mean it boggles my mind.  I guess you have to go back into my psyche as an extremely curious teen back in ‘94 when both conan and björk were coming to be.  I was glued on both - it was SPIN magazine and björk was on the cover one month, conan the next.  I could easily list off björk’s “human behavior” video and conan’s episode where the stanley cup is introduced to the show as a character (after the rangers won) as two of the biggest media memories in my life.  It’s a plus that there is a small gang of trumpet players on stage - another experience of where I was at when I discover both conan and björk.

So I guess what I’m saying is that tonight is an example of why I write this blog.  I couldn’t be more pleased.  thank you jim pitt and co.  These are two of my geniuses.

two quick notes on the performance: I loved that björk curtseyed to the audience when they applauded her during her introduction.  Also, loved the height difference between the two.

on a side note, the new season of office needs to get in gear, I’m not loving this latest opener.
