chow: trout lake farmer’s market

While the summer has been a bit flat with the long labour day weekend being a mix of cool fall temps and well…gulp…rain, the farmer’s markets are going off!

sheep celebration time!

Highlights are a bunch of nice people, excellent coffee (confirmed) and crêpes (so I hear) along with some killer bread and baked products. And everything is damn near wholesome - either organic or non-spraying produce, so there is plenty of edibles for home too (like crazy-good blueberries, cherries, and summer lettuce).

Another cool point was a stand full of beautiful handmade pottery which had some beautiful swirl pieces and glazework. I got to hang out behind-the-stage simply cause it was my pal Katie’s mom’s stand. She makes them all her own from Burnaby and is the nicest lady! So go check out the market and save some money for a lovely teacup, teabag dish, or soup bowl and EAT LOCAL!
